Our Story

Four decades of family, faith, and unwavering commitment to the families of West Alabama and East Central Mississippi.

The Beginning

Founded on
Faith & Family

In February 1978, James E. McInnis and Mary R. McInnis founded McInnis Mortuary in Eutaw, Alabama. From day one, their mission was clear: provide the families of West Alabama with compassionate, dignified funeral care — the kind of personal attention that made grieving families feel supported, not processed.

James, a licensed mortician in both Alabama and Mississippi, brought professional expertise. Mary, a licensed funeral director, brought an unmatched gift for human connection. Together they built not just a business, but a community institution.

The demand for their care grew steadily. By December 1990, they expanded — opening a second location at 110 Marshall Street in Livingston, Alabama, extending their reach into Sumter County and deepening their service to the region.
